               Candidates after getting admission to the new session are supposed to do the assignment on the courses they have taken to get qualified to appear in the Term-end examination. To do the assignment first of all the candidates need to download the assignment question paper from the internet and then they need to answer the questions of the assignment using the help of study materials provided by IGNOU.

When to submit IGNOU assignment?

               If candidate gets registered to new cycle in July session then he/she needs to submit the assignment in the month of March to appear in the June Term-end examination. Whereas if candidate get registered to new cycle in January session then he/she needs to submit the assignment in the month of September to appear in the December Term-end examination.   

Is it  compulsory to submit assignment?

The answer is Yes, it is compulsory to submit assignment in order to appear in the Term-end examinations and to pass out the program. Candidates are not allowed to appear in the Term-end examination if they fail to submit the assignment of the courses they want to sit exam for.

What is the passing marks of assignment?

The passing marks is just 35 out of 100. Candidates failing to secure atleast 35 marks in the assignment needs to resubmit the assignment.

Is assignment marks counted in the final result?

Yes, the assignment marks are counted too together with the term-end examination marks obtained. 30% of assignment marks whereas 70% of the TEE obtained marks are counted as the final marks obtained by the candidate in the particular course. So, candidates are always advised to do  their assignment well to get good marks in the final result.
